🎨 Video Course on Photo Retouching

The video course on photo retouching is suitable for intermediate and intermediate+ levels. The content is designed for experienced retouchers with a portfolio. You should understand Photoshop functionality, tools, masks, and layers, as well as have experience in retouching using frequency separation and dodge and burn techniques. If you lack this experience/knowledge, you need the BASIC PHOTOSHOP course.

🖥️ To take the course, you’ll need a computer or laptop, a computer mouse, and/or a graphic tablet (e.g., Wacom Intuos Art S), and Adobe Photoshop CC software. I recommend installing licensed versions through a subscription ($9.99 per month – Adobe Creative Cloud Plans) in English.

🌐 The materials are recorded in the English version of the program, PS version – 2019, operating system – Windows. The course language is Russian.

🎨 Course Outline: SKIN

1. Lesson 1: Simple retouch. Primary image cleaning. Working with tools: spot healing brush, healing brush, clone stamp, patch.
2. Lesson 2: Dodge and Burn.
3. Lesson 3: Texture retouch. Frequency separation using a special helper layer. Stamp and patch work on a textured layer.
4. Lesson 4: Final refinement. Detail work: eyes, teeth, enhancing skin reflections using the curves tool.
5. Lesson 5: Frequency separation, part 1. Working with texture. A method to retouch more quickly.
6. Lesson 6: Frequency separation, part 2. Working with light-shadow drawing and low-frequency layer.
7. Lesson 7: Details and final adjustments. Lip pen work. Using the stamp to remove fluffy hair. Dodge and Burn.

🌈 Course Outline: COLOR

1. Lesson 1: Theory. Color wheel. Chromatic and achromatic colors, light, and saturation.
2. Lesson 2: Curves, color samples, spots. Color correction using tools: curves, hue/saturation. Color sampling using the eyedropper tool.
3. Lesson 3: Saturation, light. Adjusting oversaturated areas of the image using hue/saturation. Light correction using curves.
4. Lesson 4: Color spaces, bit depth, working with curves and selective color. Adjusting shades in individual color channels without affecting the rest of the image.
5. Lesson 5: Selective color. Color correction using masks and the Layer Style tool.
6. Lesson 6: Artistic color correction, part 1. Working with tonality, toning using the Color Balance tool, skin contrast, darkening and lightening. High pass. Neutralizing excess color saturation.
7. Lesson 7: Artistic color correction, part 2. Contrast techniques, Unsharp Mask for volume enhancement, toning using the Selective color tool, enhancing reflections.
8. Lesson 8: Artistic color correction, part 3. How to give a tan to the skin, adding volume using Dodge and Burn, Photo Filter to change the background color, toning using the Color grade tool.
