ABOUT LIT BY FILM

Our primary objective is to maintain a consistently soft, cinematic look throughout the entire story, wedding, or session. To achieve this, we adhere to using only one black and white preset and one color preset. These presets are applied initially, followed by adjusting the White Balance and exposure for each individual photo or scene.

Each color adjustment preset is specifically crafted to facilitate the process of attaining accurate skin tones. We strive to keep the tones warm while simultaneously managing the magenta hue that our cameras tend to apply.

However, it’s important to note that our approach reflects our personal taste. Every camera and lens combination is unique, and we strongly encourage you to experiment with the white balance and hue settings for each color in the palette.

These presets embody our profound love for film, serving as a direct expression of this passion. They evoke a statement that is as delicate as brush strokes in Caravaggio’s paintings, these presets have the power to enhance photos taken in any environment while setting a nostalgic tone.

BEFORE & AFTER

OPACITY

Use the presets in your desired opacity to go for softer or more artistic color grading and contrasts. The opacity function can be used on RAW files and gives the perfect versatility for different light situations and scenes. See the animated sample below.
